So what is Krav Maga?
Perhaps you have heard of a self-defense called Krav Maga. Krav Maga is a cutting edge martial arts system that is world renowned for its effectiveness in self-defense. It originated from a system that managed to protect and defend against modern day situations, and is now commonly taught to military forces as the best form of unarmed combat. It is employed in organizations such as the Israeli Special Forces, FBI, and CIA to teach personnel to neutralize threats as quickly as possible.
At SMMA we have structured our Krav Maga/self-protection classes as a 100% hands-on participation experience. Repetition of self-protection techniques and moves promotes muscle memory, which will decrease reaction time if the student ever finds him/herself in a stress filled situation. These classes also offer a fun filled intense physical workout. Drills and routines offer an interesting, non-static, never boring way to tone, strengthen and promote weight loss.
Drills provide maximum safety to students by the use of protective equipment and the use of reasonable force. Students learn to defend against all variety of attacks and are taught to counter in the quickest and most efficient way.
Training covers situational awareness to develop an understanding of one's surroundings, learning to understand the psychology of a street confrontation, and identifying potential threats before an attack occurs. It also covers ways to deal with physical and verbal methods to avoid violence whenever possible.

Krav Maga Conditioning
This conditioning class combines Krav Maga techniques, heavy bag drills, and traditional conditioning stations to strengthen muscles, stabilize core structures, and build functional strength to assist in daily activities.
The introduction of new and more complex techniques is progressive across the 6 week period in order to increase the intensity of workout and knowledge of Krav Maga.
Participants will not only change their body composition by toning and losing weight, but by learning actual self-defense techniques will promote muscle memory in order to build self-confidence and self-esteem if ever confronted with a questionable confrontational situation.
Sessions run in 6 week increments/3+ days per week - call for the start date of our next session, class times, and cost.
